Chapel Hill Public Library Foundation

Ensuring Excellence
The Role of the Foundation

Great libraries cannot be sustained on public funding alone. In 1997, a group of far-sighted citizens in Chapel Hill decided it was time to create a foundation to support our great library. The Chapel Hill Public Library Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) organization that seeks private sector support to supplement tax-based funding for the Library.

Since 1997, the Foundation has donated over $400,000 to the Chapel Hill Public Library. These funds have been used by the Library to improve its collections and enhance its services to the public.

The Foundation is dedicated to ensuring the excellence of our Library for today and for many tomorrows to come.
