Recent Gifts to the Library

Your donations to the Library Foundation will ensure the continued excellence of the Chapel Hill Public Library’s collections and services. The Foundation will take your donations, add it to others, and then make distributions to the Library on a quarterly basis.

Recent Contributions:

December 2006
The Chapel Hill Public Library Foundation donated $50,000 to the Town of Chapel Hill at the December 4 meeting of the Town Council. Foundation President, Gene Pease, reported on the progress of the Foundation's fundraising work in recent months. Then he presented Mayor Kevin Foy with the check which will be used to buy about 2,000 new books for the Library. The Chapel Hill Public Library Foundation is leading a five-year $2.5 million fundraising capital campaign, Ensuring Excellence. ( more ) .
September 2005
The Chapel Hill Public Library Foundation donated a total of $60,500 to the Chapel Hill Public Library during the Foundation’s 2004-2005 fiscal year. More details about these gifts are included in the Foundation’s September 15, 2005 letter to Library Director Kathleen Thompson.
June 2005
The Library Foundation donated $12,000 to the Chapel Hill Public Library to expand and update the children’s collection, purchase additional shelving, and buy books for the Library Foundation’s “One Community, One Book” event in February 2006. The Foundation’s June 2005 letter to Town Manager Cal Horton contains further details about this gift.
