November 13, 2011 Special Benefit Event — "Read Local: Grow Global"
A Benefit Event to Celebrate and Ensure the Excellence of Our Growing Chapel Hill Public Library
Mix and Mingle with Authors featured in the new book 27 Views of Chapel Hill: A Southern University Town in Prose and Poetry.
[Read about the book in a recent Chapel Hill News article!]
This benefit private reception will be at the home of our hosts, UNC President Tom Ross and Susan Ross, from 4:30-6:30pm.
Authors Bland Simpson, Daniel Wallace, Michael McFee, Elizabeth Spencer, Daphne Athas, Nic Brown, Mildred Council, Alan Shapiro and Eno Press publisher Elizabeth Woodman will share insights and Chapel Hill experiences. A free public reading precedes this event from 3 -4 PM in Wilson Library, UNC-CH, Pleasants Family Assembly Room.
A silent auction will offer one-of-a-kind hometown experiences such as a honeysuckle picking and cooking lesson with Chef Bill Smith and ownership of Daniel Wallace's original cover art for the book 27 Views of Chapel Hill.
Proceeds from this event will help the Foundation provide new print, audio and digital books for Chapel Hill readers in the renovated and expanded Library scheduled to open in Pritchard Park in December 2012. The Foundation would like to acknowledge the following supporters who have made extraordinary contributions to this event.
